The book contains the presidential address discourse to the "History Section" of the "Progressive Writers’ Conference" held in Jamalpur Bihar, India) on 1960 January 1.

The discourse examines the benefits and limitations of patriotism, starting with a deep analysis of the concept of Nation referred to the different areas of the planet, it's based on Sarkar's ideology of "Cosmic Brotherhood".

He wrote in the name "Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar" when treating sociology, economics, philology and various other subjects, and in the name ""Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti"" when focusing on spiritual topics. Many of his books he gave as dictations; others were compiled from his discourses, some of them in small pocket-books.
