Man bhese jáy akúle
Apalake ceye tháki
Bhávjagater duyor khule

Káche tháko tabu kena
Dharáchoṋyá dáo ná hena
Ei ele ei cale gele
Lukocuri jáo je khele

Bodhi buddhi neiko ámár
Shudhu jáni tomáke sár
Tomár tare ashru jhare
Tomáke cái jiivan múle

তোমাকে কাছে পেয়ে
মন ভেসে’ যায় অকূলে
অপলকে চেয়ে থাকি
ভাবজগতের দুয়োর খুলে’

কাছে থাক তবু কেন
ধরাছোঁয়া দাও না হেন
এই এলে এই চলে’ গেলে
লুকোচুরি যাও যে খেলে’

বোধি-বুদ্ধি নেইকো আমার
শুধু জানি তোমাকে সার
তোমার তরে অশ্রু ঝরে
তোমাকে চাই জীবন মূলে

Having sensed that You are near,
Mind sails on a shoreless ocean.
Vigilant I remain steadfastly,
Thought-realm's door wide open.

Close You stay, yet for what reason
It seems like You grant no reach?
You come nigh and quickly leave;
Hide-and-seek You go on playin'.

Acumen and intuition are not mine;
All I know is that You are essential.
For Your sake, tears do fall;
I want You as basis of my life.
