Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár pathe cali ámi
Kona bádháy pechobo ná
Tumi ámár cokher mańi
Tumii sádhaná

Kśudra diiper salte jvele
Egoi tomár námer bale
Je bal áche oi námete
Táhár náhi kona tulaná

Din tithi kata je háráy
Gańanáteo bhul theke jáy
Tumi ácho ámi áchi
Echáŕá ár kichu jáni ná

তোমার পথে চলি আমি
কোন বাধায় পেছোব না
তুমি আমার চোখের মণি
তুমিই সাধনা

ক্ষুদ্র দীপের সলতে জ্বেলে’
এগোই তোমার নামের বলে
যে বল আছে ওই নামেতে
তাহার নাহি কোন তুলনা

দিন-তিথি কত যে হারায়
গণনাতেও ভুল থেকে’ যায়
তুমি আছ আমি আছি
এছাড়া আর কিছু জানি না

Upon Your path I proceed,
From no obstacle will I retreat.
You are my Darling Dear;[nb 2]
My sadhana is You only.

Having lit the wick of puny lantern,
I march on by Your name's power.
The strength dwelling in that appellation,
To it there is no comparison.

How many are the days gone by–
The counting also slips from mind.
You exist, and I exist...
I know nothing else but this.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ Literally, cokher mańi means "gem of the eye". It sometimes refers to the eye's pupil. However, figuratively it refers to someone who is held dear.
