Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár tare vishva ghure
Beŕiyechilum shudhu shudhu
Pái ni tomár dekhá kotháo
Pái ni ámár maner madhu

Nánán jane nánán bale
Keu bá vrthá tarka tole
Keu máne darshane vijiṋáne
Jáy ná dhará tomáy vidhu

Jiṋáner puṋji neiko ámár
Jáni shudhu tumii je sár
Jharle tomár kańá krpár
Tabei tomáy pábo baṋdhu

Having gone around the world for Thee,
My touring had been futile.
Your sight I caught not anywhere;
I did not find the honey of my mind.

With diverse people, they speak differently;
One might even raise useless reasoning.
Someone believes in science and philosophy;
But that serves not to catch You, oh Moon of mine.

I have no stockpile of knowledge.
I just know that only You are the essence.
When a tiny speck of Your kindness be shed,
Then alone will I get You, oh sweet Friend of mine.
