Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomáre ceyechi priya
Ekánte vijane
Aruń áloy mákhá ráuṋá prabháte
Vihager madhu kújane

Jáni man jata cáy tata páy ná
Jáhá páy táro sabt́uku cáy ná
Sab cáoyá páoyári úrdhve tumi
Eso bháv bháśá bhásiye maneri końe

Ámi tava carańer srote bhásá phul
Akúle chilum áj peye gechi kúl
Dekho more karuńá kare
Nirajane priya nirajane

Yourself I have wanted, oh Beloved,
In private and in seclusion...
On a clement morning glazed with crimson luster
Mid a pleasant chirping of birds.

I know: As much as mind wants, it gets not to such extent;
And even what mind gets, it wants not in all respects...
You Who are higher than every wish and acquisition,
Having cast adrift love's language, inside psyche please come.

I am a flower, afloat on Your foot-stream;
I had been without shore, but now I've got a beach...
Graciously, please see me;
Alone am I, Beloved, I am lonely.
