Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomáre ceyechi sakal mádhurii diye
Jyotsnádhárá bicháye cáṋd jeman dharáre jáce
Jáni ná kena áso ni dekhite ki tumi páo ni
Athavá esechile tákái ni mor manomájhe

Khuṋjechi báhire báhire
Dekhi ni nija antare
Tái ki caliyá gecho phire
Bujhi anádare vyathá báje

Ebár tákábo antar májhe
Dekhibo arúp mahimá je ráje
Sájábo tomáre navatar sáje
Madhumáse mor phulasáje

O lord, i wanted you by
offering my entire sweetness.
just like the moon demands the earth
spreading the moonlight on it.
i do not know, why do not you come,
are You not in a position to observe?
or you came without looking into my mind.
i have been searching you outside only,
without seeing inside my own self.
is it because of that You returned back
understanding the pain of disrespect.
this time i shall look within my mind,
where the glory of rising sun shines.
i shall decorate you with a newer adornment,
during this spring with my flowers.
