গবাক্ষ রন্ধ্রে দেখালে আলো
বলিলে চাহ তুমি আমার ভালো
আমার হিতের লাগি’ দিবানিশি আছ জাগি’
সুমেরুর মেরুজ্যোতিতে

O lord,
I lost myself to you,
even carrying a high ego.

This ego of mine made me blind
and shut all my windows.

I thought of my own affairs only,
I remained misguided in darkness.

No light,
no wind...
in a small house,
one is unable to see oneself in the darkness.

Under that environment,
I was alone,
undergoing my self created pain.

You remained awake,
day and night,
for the sake of my welfare,
like a polar light.
