Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi álojhalamal púrńimádiip
Meghalá ráte
Dikbhránter tumi dhruvatárá
Eklá pathe
Tumi sakal vyathár pare madhura pralep
Sabára káche

Tomáre ceyechi sakala káje
Ná balá vyathár májhe
Árta jeman jáce
Tomáre ceyechi
Ácho dine ácho ráte
Ácho sukhe ácho duhkhete
Ácho sakal calár pathe klesh bhuláte
Sáthe sáthe

You are the glittering full-moon lamp
On a cloudy night.
For those who've lost their way, You are the polestar
On a lonely path.
Against all pains, You are the sweet balm,
At everyone's side.

In all actions I seek You.
In times of unspoken agony,
Much as the afflicted pray,
I long for You.

You are with me in day and night.
You are with me in weal and woe.
In all my activities, relieving sorrow, You are
Always with me.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[4]

You are, oh Lord, like the glittering moon in the cloudy night. You are like the polestar to one lost in the wilderness. You are the sweet healing balm for all the pains and agonies of life. In all circumstances, You are the one who removes all my pains and miseries. And in all conditions I long for Your sweet presence in all my actions, in all my unspoken agonies. In my sorrow You are with me. In my joy also You are with me.
