Lyrics

Roman script Bengali script Translation

Tumi álo jhalamala púrńimá diip,
Meghalá ráte
Digbhránter tumi dhruvatárá,
Ekalá pathe
Tumi sakal vyathár pare madhur pralep,
Sabár káche

Tomáre ceyechi sakal káje
Nábolá vyathára májhe
Árta jeman jáce,
Tomáre ceyechi

Ácho dine, ácho ráte,
Ácho sukhe, ácho duhkhete
Ácho sakal calár pathe klesha bhuláte
Sáthe sáthe, sáthe
Sáthe sáthe sáthe

O Lord, You are the glittering moon
in the dark and cloudy night.
You are the polestar
for one lost in the wilderness,
wandering on a lonely path.

You are the sweet balm
that heals all sorrows.
You are the glittering moon
in the dark and cloudy night.

In all my actions I seek You.
In my unspoken agony,
I long for You,
like those afflicted.

You are in day
and You are in night.
You are in pleasure,
and You are in pain.
You make us forget all obstacles on our path.
You are together with us, together, together.
O Lord, You are the glittering moon
in the dark and cloudy night.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song.[2]

You are, O Lord, like the glittering moon in the cloudy night. You are like the polestar to one lost in the wilderness. You are the sweet healing balm for all the pains and agonies of life. In all circumstances, You are the one who removes all my pains and miseries; and in all conditions I long for Your sweet presence in all my actions, in all my unspoken agonies. In my sorrow You are with me. In my joy also You are with me.
