Tumi amar sonari kamal is the 380th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi ámár sonári kamal
Phot́o bhálo kare tháko hiyá pare
Sab kichu kare jhalamal

Theko ná theko ná ár dúre dúre
Tháko hrdi májhe chande o sure
Udbhásita hao go suváse
Mádhurje bhará shatadal (tumi)

Cineo tomáre cini ni go ami
Káche theke lukocuri khelo tumi
Dhareo tomáre dharite pári ni
Liilácaiṋcal suvimala

You are my golden lotus.[nb 2]
Flourish; and then in my heart reside,
Making each and every thing bright.

Don't stay, don't stay very far away;
You dwell in my heart with rhythm and melody.
Be radiant and fragrant, my sweet Lord,
Filling with beauty the one hundred petals.[nb 3]

I feel i have known you,
but i am not sure of it.
You are so close, yet you elude me.

It seems i have attained you,
yet i am not sure of it.
You are so sportive,
You, so very pure, so immaculate.

You are like the golden lotus of my mind.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ The golden color might be connected with the hirańmaya kośa, literally "golden layer", which is the most subtle portion of mind. In yoga, it is said that the hirańmaya kośa is attracted only to the Supreme Guru.
  3. ^ In yoga, meditation on the Supreme Guru is typically performed at the guru cakra. The guru cakra is visualized as a hundred-petaled lotus, and the Guru is seated therein. The guru cakra is located just below sahasrára cakra (the thousand-petaled plexus), located at or just above the anterior fontanelle.
