Maru hiyár májhe (ámár)
Já kichu mor buker madhu
Doba tomár káje

Phot́e niko ekt́io phul
Sájáte oi carań rátul
Ekt́io phal phaleni to
Dite arghya sáje

Kuiṋje gherá shyámal shobhá
Neiko hetháy manolobhá
Chande giite sure srote
Bharái niko náce
Tabu ele ámár káche

তুমি এসেছো তুমি এসেছো
মরু হিয়ার মাঝে (আমার)
যা কিছু মোর বুকের মধু
দোব তোমার কাজে

ফোটে নিকো একটিও ফুল
সাজাতে ওই চরণ রাতুল
একটিও ফল ফলেনি তো
দিতে অর্ঘ্য সাজে

কুঞ্জে ঘেরা শ্যামল শোভা
নেইকো হেথায় মনোলোভা
ছন্দে গীতে সুরে স্রোতে
ভরাই নিকো নাচে
তবু এলে আমার কাছে

O lord!
You came into my desertheart.

Whatever honey is stored in it,
I shall offer it unto the sake of your work.

Not a single flower bloomed
to decorate your red feet.
Not a single fruit
grew to decorate my tray.

No green beauty
surrounds the shrubs,
to enchant my mind.

I did not fill my dance
with a rhythmic song
nor a flowing tune.

Yet, you nevertheless came close to me.
