Tumi jakhan eklá chile
Ár keu áse ni dharáy
Sámne tomár keu chilo ná
Jáke dekhe kichu balá jáy

Ákásh vátás keu chilo ná
Ná sádhya ná chilo sádhaná
Nihsauṋgeri niiravatáy
Kii kare thákbe tumi kotháy

Nirjanatár asuvidhá
Dúr karite hale bahudhá
Ek chile anek hayecho
Naccho ucchalatáy

তুমি যখন একলা ছিলে
আর কেউ আসে নি ধরায়
সামনে তোমার কেউ ছিল না
যাকে দেখে’ কিছু বলা যায়

আকাশ-বাতাস কেউ ছিল না
না সাধ্য না ছিল সাধনা
নিঃসঙ্গেরই নীরবতায়
কী করে’ থাকবে তুমি কোথায়

নির্জনতার অসুবিধা
দূর করিতে হ’লে বহুধা
এক ছিলে অনেক হয়েছ
নাচছ উচ্ছলতায়

When You had been all alone,
On the earth none else appeared.
In front of You had been no one,
On seeing whom gets told something.

Sky and wind, there had been none;
Absent a capacity, there was no endeavor.
In the hush, completely unaccompanied,
Doing what, You will reside where?

Seclusion's disadvantages
Are banished when there be profusion.
You'd been one; You've become many–
With a passion You are dancing.
