Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi je esecho
Maneri mukule
Hásite bhariyá diyecho
Madhurimá dile d́hele

Je bháve ceyechi
Se bhávei peyechi
Upaciyá tumi ele
Saritár dukúle

Jáni tava ásá-jáoyá nái
Se anubhúti to pái nái
Tái jabe bujhi káche ácho
Ánande man d́áná mele

Bhálabási kena jáni ná
Bhálabásá mor sádhaná
Juktite báṋdhite pári ná
Tái buddhike dii phele[nb 2]

You've arrived
In the bud of my psyche.
You've been filling with a smile;
Sweetness You bequeathed.

In the manner I have wanted,
Just like that I have gotten.
You came, overflowing
On both banks of the stream.

I know You don't make mere visits,
But that's not the feeling I get.
So when I sense that You're nearby,
The mind spreads wing with glee.

I am in love, the reason I know not;
Love, it is my sadhana.
To bind through logic I cannot;
So intellect discarded I let it be.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ Though all of the available Bangla, Roman script, and audio source gives d́hele and not phele, in context d́hele simply cannot be correct. Hence this change is made for compelling contextual reason.
