Lyrics

Roman script Bengali script Translation

Tumi marme ese ámár ghum bháḿgále
Tumi nijer raunge ámár man ráungále

Chilo pather klánti,
Chilo bojhár bhránti
Jiivan ke ashánti bisiye chilo
Tumi nijer háte táder sariye dile
Tomár chande práń náciye dile

Chilo mán apamán,
Chilo pávár parimáń
Sakal bojhá tumi sariye dile
Tomár áloy ámáy bhariye dile

You came into the core of my heart and awakened me from dull slumber.
You painted my mind with Your bright hue.

I was weary with my unending journey,
full of confusion and misunderstanding.
My life was polluted with poisonous dissonance.
You dispelled all with a wave of Your hand.
You vibrated my life with Your joyous rhythm.

I was burdened with conceit and humiliation,
and by my load of disappointments and dashed hopes.
You came and removed the millstone from my neck.
You drenched my life with Your glorious effulgence.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[3]

You roused me from my deep slumber, and You have colored my mind with Your colour. The tiredness of my journey is gone. The misunderstandings have disappeared. And all the pollutions of mind have vanished. You removed them with Your own hand. Because of Your intense love for me, my very existence has become a dance, full of rhythm. You have touched the very core of my mind. Gone are the feelings of pride and prestige. Gone are the thoughts of gain and accumulation. You removed all these heavy burdens from my mind and filled me with Your infinite light.
