আলোঝলমল পূর্ণিমা রাতে
তোমারে পেয়েছি মনমাঝে
বীণার তারের ঝঙ্কারে
স্নিগ্ধ পবনে মদির স্বপনে
তোমারে দেখেছি ফুলসাজে
বনবীথিকার মর্মরে

মানসোদধিতে ঊর্মি মেতেছে
তোমার রঙেতে রঙীন হয়েছে
তোমার মাঝারে সে যে গো পেয়েছে
আকণ্ঠ সুধা প্রাণ ভরে

আলোর ঝিলিক লালিমা ঢেলেছে
সকল কালিমা লীন হয়ে গেছে
তোমার পরশে ভাসায়ে দিয়েছে
যুগে যুগে জমা সংস্কারে

On a dazzling full-moon night,
I've got You inside my mind
With the jingle of lyre strings.
On cool breeze in pleasant dream,
I've seen You decked in flowers
Mid the rustle of a woodland vista.

In my mind-sea, waves have gone wild;
In Your color they've been dyed.
In Your company, they've received
Ample nectar to sate yearning.

Your light-flash has cast a crimson glint;
All my gloom, it has been extinguished.
By Your touch You have made sail away
Saḿskár[nb 2] accrued in many an age.

  2. ^ In English, the word karma is generally and incorrectly used to denote saḿskár[a]. According to the philosophy of Ananda Marga, every action that an individual does accumulates a mind-based reactive momentum (saḿskára). The aggregate of one's pending reactive momenta determine a person's subsequent lives. Until and unless all of one's reactive momenta are exhausted, liberation cannot be achieved.
