Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áloker oi jharńádháráy
Snán kare ele ke go tumi
Sadya snánasikta vasane
Siiṋcita kari marubhúmi mor
Hiyár rukśa marubhúmi

Je bhúmite kabhu trńa ná jágita
Phale phule se je halo sushobhita
Se kathá smariyá tomáre heriyá
Báre báre deha mane nami (ámi)

Chilum badhir adhomukhe nata
Spandan dile ameya amita
Tava sauṋgiite tomár priitite
Mukhar hayechi áji ámi

In yon cascade of light
Bathing, oh You, Who arrived?
At once from bath-wet garments
I spray this arid desert mine,
The heart's dry wilderness.

On land where never a blade of grass grew,
That was beautified by flowers and fruits.
Recalling this fact and beholding You,
With both body and mind, oft I bow in salute.

I'd refused to hear, my face held down;
You gave a jolt, great beyond bounds.
Your songs, Your love... on their account,
I've become loquacious now.
