Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Álor deshe taruń hese
Bale mithyey bhulchi ná
T́hakchi ná t́hakácchi ná
Pháṋká kathár jhalkánite
Ár kakhano t́alchi ná
Ár tá káńe tulchi ná

Sabái áse álor áshe
Báṋdhá paŕe kálor pháṋse
Lobher vashe pather dośe
Jaŕáy jetháy jál boná

Mánuś mánuś ek parivár
Eki duhkha sukh je sabár
Caram kathá e satya sár
Gáite dvidhá karchi ná

In the land of light the lad, smiling,
He declares: "By lies I am not deceived;
Neither am I cheated, nor I cheat.
With the shimmer of empty words,
No longer am I indecisive;
To that I no more give ear.

In hope of light come all and sundry;
But tied down by rope of ebony,
Ruled by greed and from path straying,
They embrace the place where webs are weaved.

All human beings are a single family;
Joy or grief of one is that of everybody.
This is the last word, ultimate reality,
That I do not hesitate to sing.
