Ami pather hadish pai ni is the 1338th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2] This song is the first in a series of five songs that make up a musical drama.

Ámi pather hadish pái ni
Tái tomár páne cali ni
Tomár ámár paricay
Chila ajáná áṋdháre d́háká
Tái paricay khuṋji ni

Bhávitám mor bujhi keha nái
Bhágye bhálabásá sneha nái
Upekśá ár avahelá bhará
Jiivanke mán dii ni

Kata vasanta jiivane eseche
Sharat sandhyá rauṋ d́háliyáche
Nijeke prthak kare rekhechi
Káro rauṋe ráuṋáte pári ni

আমি পথের হদিশ পাই নি
তাই তোমার পানে চলি নি
তোমার আমার পরিচয়
ছিল অজানা আঁধারে ঢাকা
তাই পরিচয় খুঁজি নি

ভাবিতাম মোর বুঝি কেহ নাই
ভাগ্যে ভালবাসা স্নেহ নাই
উপেক্ষা আর অবহেলা ভরা
জীবনকে মান দিই নি

কত বসন্ত জীবনে এসেছে
শরৎ সন্ধ্যা রঙ ঢালিয়াছে
নিজেকে পৃথক্‌ করে’ রেখেছি
কারও রঙে রাঙাতে পারি নি

No trace of the way did I receive;
So toward You I failed to proceed.
Acquaintance between You and me
With odd darkness it had been concealed;
Hence, I sought not intimacy.

I was thinking maybe there was none for me,
That love and fondness was not in my destiny.
Filled with carelessness and apathy,
Worth to existence I did not concede.

In life many a spring has arrived;
Now the fall twilight pours out its dye.
I have kept myself off to the side;
With no one's colors could I become bright.
