Ámi esechi bhay kii ár
Sauṋge álo enechi

Ráter áṋdhár chilo bhayál
Hiḿsra shvápad daḿnśt́ra karál
Sabái geche áshá jegeche
Áloy bhuvan bharechi

Bhay peyo ná keu kakhano
Amár parei álo jeno
Srśt́i sthiti layo shono
Ámii dhare rekhechi

আঁধার শেষে অরুণ হেসে’
বললে আমি এসেছি
আমি এসেছি ভয় কী আর
সঙ্গে আলো এনেছি

রাতের আঁধার ছিল ভয়াল
হিংস্র শ্বাপদ-দংষ্ট্রা করাল
সবাই গেছে আশা জেগেছে
আলোয় ভুবন ভরেছি

ভয় পে’য়ো না কেউ কখনো
অমার পরেই আলো জেনো
সৃষ্টি-স্থিতি-লয়ও শোন
আমিই ধরে’ রেখেছি

At close of darkness, having smiled the morning sun,
You told: "I have come...
I've arrived, fear is no more;
I have brought the light along.

"The night's gloom was horrendous;
The long teeth of dreadful beasts ferocious,
They've all gone; now hope has arisen...
With light the world I've filled.

"Don't get afraid, anyone at any time;
Know that soon after new moon comes the light.
Creation, preservation, and destruction– listen,
I alone have bridled."
