Bale jáo mor pare kena abhimán
Kata nishi jágiyáchi kata phul tuliyáchi
Kare tháki sadá tava dhyán

Niirasa hrday mor tava náme bhijiyáche
Asár paráń mor tava bháve bhariyáche
Caiṋcala hiyá mor tomátei sthita áche
Darshane mátiyáche práń

Káchákáchi ásiyácha páshe náhi basiyácha
Madhur adhare tava kathá náhi kahiyácha
Náhi ki priitir kona t́án

বলে’ যাও মোর ‘পরে কেন অভিমান
কত নিশি জাগিয়াছি কত ফুল তুলিয়াছি
করে’ থাকি সদা তব ধ্যান

নীরস হৃদয় মোর তব নামে ভিজিয়াছে
অসার পরাণ মোর তব ভাবে ভরিয়াছে
চঞ্চল হিয়া মোর তোমাতেই স্থিত আছে
দর্শনে মাতিয়াছে প্রাণ

কাছাকাছি আসিয়াছ পাশে নাহি বসিয়াছ
মধুর অধরে তব কথা নাহি কহিয়াছ
নাহি কি প্রীতির কোন টান

Do explain. Why by me are You offended?
I have been awake many nights, I've picked many flowers;
And always I remain engaged in Your meditation.

In Your name my sapless heart is steeped;
My worthless life is filled with thoughts of Thee.
My restless psyche becomes steady in You only;
With Your darshan[nb 2] my vitality gets frenzied.

You've come close, but never You stay near;
With sweet lips You don't tell Your story.
Does not love hold some appeal?
