Canpar kali tomay bali is the 1578th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Cáṋpár kali tomáy bali
Ekt́u káche eso ná (tumi)
Lukiye tákáo suvás viláo
Dharáchonyáy áso ná

Phuler vanera vanaspati
Diirgha rju madhu prakrti
Taruvarera baŕa ruci
Varśá várir barańá

Rúpsáyarer madhyamańi
Svarńadháráy marmadhvani
Marma májhe háriye jáoyá
Jharńá jhará eśańá

Magnolia bud, to you I speak:
Please do not come a wee bit near.
Cast fragrance and watch while in hiding;
Do not come in reach.

The flower garden's ficus tree,[nb 2]
Its nature is long, straight, and sweet.
The banyan's[nb 3] main propensity
Is monsoon-water's welcoming.

Sea-of-forms' most precious thing,
Inner voice upon a gold-stream,
At core of heart missed it's getting...
The fountain-spout, motive sincere.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ The vanaspati is any large tree that seems to bear fruit without blossoms, like the fig tree. However, the term is also used more broadly for any large tree.
  3. ^ The taruvar is also a variety of large tree. This type of tree seems to spread out wider than the vanaspati. Examples of it are the banyan and the palm tree.
