He Thinks and We Perceive is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. This discourse is the sixteenth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 34.[1]
Synopsis
Where there is no vibration, no pulsation, it is not life. And that’s why everything in this universe of ours is moving. Nothing is fixed, nothing is stationary; everything will have to move. And why will everything have to move? Because whatever we see, and whatever we think, and whatever comes within the scope of our inferences, are moving within the Cosmic Mind, are moving within the mind of Parama Puruśa. He thinks and we perceive.
Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that in this cosmos, everything is moving from thoughts to stars. That movement is within the mind of Parama Purusa. Our good thoughts and deeds give pleasure to the Supreme. Anandamurti then says that, unlike animals, human beings enjoy those objects that are refined more than those that are crude in nature. That is because humans have more psychic penchants than mere instincts. Anandamurti goes on saying that the subtlest of all is the Supreme Entity, and therefore to move beyond physical and psychic desires and toward that entity is humanity's highest goal.[1]
