Ámár maner maiṋjuśay
Ásibe káche chinu ei bharasáy
Áshá bhará divase nisháy

Kata din cale gelo kata sandhyá elo
Rauṋin kusum kata átape jhare gelo
Súrjagrahańe kata ravi d́háká paŕechilo
Bhule gechi sei itikatháy

Kata ráti phuráilo kata jyotsná hárálo
Upavan saorabh ákáshe uŕe gelo
Candragrahańe kata vidhu áṋdháre milálo
Niśt́hur niviŕ tamasáy

জেনে' না জেনে' আমি চেয়েছি তোমায়
আমার মনের মঞ্জুষায়
আসিবে কাছে ছিনু এই ভরসায়
আশাভরা দিবসে নিশায়

কত দিন চলে' গেল কত সন্ধ্যা এল
রঙিন কুসুম কত আতপে ঝরে' গেল
সূর্যগ্রহণে কত রবি ঢাকা পড়েছিল
ভুলে গেছি সেই ইতিকথায়

কত রাতি ফুরাইল কত জ্যোৎস্না হারাল
উপবন সৌরভ আকাশে উড়ে গেল
চন্দ্রগ্রহণে কত বিধু আঁধারে মিলাল
নিষ্ঠুর নিবিড় তমসায়

Knowingly unknowingly Yourself have I spied,
In the casket of my mind.
Nearby You'll appear, on this I had relied;
I am full of hope day and night.

Many days did retire, many evenings came;
Many dyed flowers, neath sunshine fell away.
By many a solar eclipse the sun got veiled;
But this same history, forgotten have I.

Many nights ended, lost was so much moonlight;
Fragrance of the garden flew off to the sky.
By many a lunar eclipse, with gloom the moon combined,
Through ignorance, impervious and unkind.
