Pákhiir básá bhásiyá jáy
Sikta pathik áshray cáy
Dháner kśete jala srote
Ságarer ábhás

Tarii beye návik cale
Kúl kinárá jáy se bhule
Thai ná peye agádh jale

মেঘের 'পরে মেঘ জমেছে
আষাঢ়ের আকাশ
বৃষ্টি পড়ে ঝঞ্ঝা ঝড়ে
উন্মত্ত বাতাস

পাখীর বাসা ভাসিয়া যায়
সিক্ত পথিক আশ্রয় চায়
ধানের ক্ষেতে জল-স্রোতে
সাগরের আভাস

তরী বেয়ে নাবিক চলে
কূল-কিনারা যায় সে ভুলে'
থই না পেয়ে অগাধ জলে
দৃষ্টি তার উদাস

Clouds after clouds are accumulated
in the sky of rainy season.
With storm, heavy downpour is there
and the wind is frenzied.
The nest of the birds fly off
and the wet traveler seeks shelter.
In the paddy fields and the water streams,
appearance of ocean comes.
The boatman sails the boat,
but forgets the shore and sides.
He is unable to estimate
the depth of deep water,
for him the rain is sorrow.
