Names of the Supreme is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti on 1964 December 7 in Salem, India. This discourse is the 8th chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 34.[1]
Synopsis
And as you are all spiritual aspirants, I would like you to be Brahma sádhakas, and your life should be a proper adjustment amongst your physical longings, your intellectual longings, and your spiritual longings. That is, your life should be a balanced life – there should be proper adjustment between mundanity and spirituality.
Anandamurti starts the discourse by describing various names for the Supreme Cognitive Principle: Krsna, Narayana, Madhava, Iishvara, Bhagavan and Svadha. He then explains that Brahma is the collective name for both the Cosmic Cognitive Principle and the Cosmic Operative Principles (Purusha and Prakriti). Anandamurti goes on explaining that spiritual seekers will have to ascribe Brahmahood to every physical object they encounter in their everyday life and thus avoid downfall. Such seekers are called Brahma sadhakas.[1]
