O lord of my mind,
On a fragrant wind in the mind's pleasure garden,
come in the fragrant breeze.
Ruler of my psyche, please arrive in secret.
Come secretly into my mental garden.
No one will know of this soul's goal in meditation,
Silently frequenting that recess hard to reach.

This silent visit of yours
A garland strung I am keeping at the foot of musing's altar,
in my inner intense sa'dhana',
Sandalpaste I am smearing on its flowers' every petal.
will remain unknown to others.
I am sitting quietly, drowsiness I've kept ignoring
In ecstatic contemplation prior to Your coming.{{#tag:ref|''Adhivás'' is any ceremony performed in advance of a solemn function. Typically, the ceremony involves self-purification and invocation.|group="nb"}}

On the altar of idea,
Incense, candles, [[:wikipedia:Alpana|sacred art]]– none of them will be used;
I have placed my floral garland.
Your heart to hold, having resolved, selfless adoration will do.
I have applied sandal paste
Through meditation, incantation, and devotion, love's passion,
to each petal of the flowers.
I will become painted by Your pulsating vibration.

I am sitting silently and alertly,
with a purified and happy mind.

No external paraphernalia of incense, candle and decoration
do i make use of.

By holding the mind itself,
I continue ideating on you.
Through meditation, incantation and loving attachment,
my mind becomes coloured with your vibration.
