Ke go ele ajáná pathik cinmay
Tomáke cinini tomáke d́ákini
Tabu ele man práń kare nile jay

Ná d́ákileo áso jánitám ná
Jánitám d́ákileo tumi áso ná
Manete basati tava he cira abhinava
Mahávishver tumi sheś vismay

Bhálabásite jáno ghrńá karite ná jáno
Ádhama[nb 2] patita bale káhákeo náhi máno
Prańati tomáre jánái báre báre
Sarva jiiver sháshvata áshray

তমসার পরপারে ভাষার অতীত তীরে
কে গো এলে অজানা পথিক চিন্ময়
তোমাকে চিনিনি তোমাকে ডাকিনি
তবু এলে মন-প্রাণ করে’ নিলে জয়

না ডাকিলেও আস জানিতাম না
জানিতাম ডাকিলেও তুমি আস না
মনেতে বসতি তব হে চির অভিনব
মহাবিশ্বের তুমি শেষ বিস্ময়

ভালবাসিতে জান ঘৃণা করিতে না জান
অধম পতিত বলে’ কাহাকেও নাহি মান
প্রণতি তোমারে জানাই বারে বারে
সর্ব জীবের শাশ্বত আশ্রয়

From the far shore of darkness, on the ancient bank of language,
Oh Who came– the Unfamiliar Pilgrim, Avatar of Consciousness!
I didn't know Your identity, nor did I call out to Thee;
But You came notwithstanding– heart and mind You vanquished.

You arrive even when unbidden, that I wasn't knowing;
I was aware that even if invited You do not appear.
In the mind is Your dwelling, hey the Always Unique;
You're the final surprise of the universe.

You know how to love, You don't know to hate;
You don't look on anyone as vile or depraved.
Before You I bow in greeting time and again,
Every creature's never-ending shelter.

  2. ^ This word is given as ádhama and also ámi in the Sargam. In the later Bengali book and in the audio file, ámi is given, but perhaps this is due to a hasty lack of consideration. Ádhama seems to be the better choice.
