Inflamed by rhythm and beat, A tranquil Earth rose in frenzy. With a crater's baked heat, Danced every atom. Tied with a noose serpentine, Those bound by grief had been. To unloose their binding, You woke the sound of clarion.

^ In later publications this word is given as metecho. However, in all of the earliest Bangla source this last word is nececho. Here, the original language is preferred.
^ According to Sarkar: The Entity Who keeps on beating the drum of time, and at Whose instance the message of time is sounded, echoed, and vibrated in entities everywhere – that fearful entity or Bhaerava (bhae + rava = bhaerava, "one whom people fear") – is called Kálabhaerava. Kálabhaerava is another name of Lord Shiva.^[3]
^ One name for Shiva is Dhúrjat́i. Dhúrjat́i is essentially a description of Shiva, based on the depiction of His hair, matted and with chignon on top of the head (pointing upward).^[4]
