Jiivan belár bálukáy
Prabhát ravir aruńa dháráy
Sandhyári raktimabháy

Man diye man cáhiyáchi
Já ceyechi tá ná peyechi
Bujhiyáchi bhul hayeche
Vinimaye ei cáoyáy

Ár kichu cáhibo náko
Diyei jábo jetháy tháko
Man harińiir jharibe niir
Van tat́iniir mohanáy

তোমায় আমি চেয়েছিলুম
জীবন বেলার বালুকায়
প্রভাত রবির অরুণ ধারায়
সন্ধ্যারই বক্তিমাভায়

মন দিয়ে মন চাহিয়াছি
যা’ চেয়েছি তা’ না পেয়েছি
বুঝিয়াছি ভুল হয়েছে
বিনিময়ে এই চাওয়ায়

আর কিছু চাহিব নাকো
দিয়েই যাব যেথায় থাক
মন-হরিণীর ঝরিবে নীর
বন-তটিনীর মোহনায়

Yourself had I observed
Along the sands of life's time...
On morning sun's crimson tide,
At blush of my twilight.

Having given mind, a mind I'm requiring;
What I've wanted, that I've not received.
I am understanding it has been a mistake,
Like barter-trade with the same desire.

Nothing more will I beseech;
