Raiṋjita rátul carańe
Tumi esechile mor ghare
Tritápkliśt́a dharańiir buke
Prashánti dile bhare

Takhan bahitechila se vibhávarii ghire
Matta malay mátiyá
Gáitechila se surajhaiṋkáre
Meghamallár mandriyá
(Ámi) Sei pariveshe priitir áveshe
Prańám karinu dhiire

Bhuli nái tithi bhuli nái kśań
Se smrti hiyáy báje anukśań
Táhári mádhurii samvit gheri
Bhásáiyá dey sure (ámáy)

বরষার রাতে কেতকীসুবাসে মাতে
রঞ্জিত রাতুল চরণে
তুমি এসেছিলে মোর ঘরে
ত্রিতাপক্লিষ্ট ধরণীর বুকে
প্রশান্তি দিলে ভরে’

তখন বহিতেছিল সে বিভাবরী ঘিরে’
মত্ত মলয় মাতিয়া
গাইতেছিল সে সুরঝঙ্কারে
মেঘমল্লার মন্দ্রিয়া
(আমি) সেই পরিবেশে প্রীতির আবেশে
প্রণাম করিনু ধীরে

ভুলি নাই তিথি ভুলি নাই ক্ষণ
সে স্মৃতি হিয়ায় বাজে অনুক্ষণ
তাহারই মাধুরী সম্বিৎ ঘেরি’
ভাসাইয়া দেয় সুরে (আমায়)

On a monsoon night, redolent with scent screwpine,
On feet rose-color dyed,
Inside my home You had arrived.
Stricken by the three afflictions,[nb 2] Earth's bosom
You suffused with peacefulness.

At the time, around that night had streamed
A heady southern wind, exhilarating.
It had sung with a music jingling,
Megh Malhar resonating.
Seized with love was I in that very atmosphere;
I had bowed and paid respect deliberately.

That day I don't forget, I don't forget the moment;
In my heart its memory resounds at each instant.
That same sweetness, it surrounds my consciousness;
On melody it sets me adrift.
