O lord,
By Your grace I have appeared;
I came by your grace,
And I will keep engaged in Your deeds only.
and shall continue doing your work.
Holding on to Your path I have advanced;
Surely, I will attain Thee!

I move forward,
In some unknown history
holding on to your path
You had come beside me...
so that i may certainly attain you.
However many ages since, I will proceed.
By my side You will go on staying;
In Your colors only I will paint my psyche!

In which unknown history
On some morning filled with flowers,
did you come close to me?
On some autumn, the birds calling...
During all that period,
With You I'd fallen in love;
I have survived.
I had lost myself in Thee.
So continue staying with me,
That auspicious day I have forgotten,
that i may colour my mind with yours.
But forgot I not my hymn eternal;

With song after song, I will make You pleased!
On which flowerfilled morning,
on which chirpingfilled winter,
have i loved you,
have i lost myself in you?

I forgot that time,
but i did not forget the immortal melody,
with which i shall fill you with song after song.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámi tomár krpáy esechi
Tomár káji kare jábo
Ámi tomár patha dhare calechi
Tomákei páboi pábo

Kon se ajáná itiháse
Tumi esechile mor páshe
Jata jug theke jábo ámi
Mor páshe theke jábe tumi
Ámi tomár rauṋei mana ráuṋábo

Kon se phule bhará prabháte
Kon se pákhii d́áká sharate
Ámi tomákei bhálabesechilum
Tomátei háriyechilum
Bhule gechi sei tithi
Bhuli ni amar giiti
Gáne gáne tomáke bharábo (ámi)

By Your grace I have appeared;
And I will keep engaged in Your deeds only.
Holding on to Your path I have advanced;
Surely, I will attain Thee!

In some unknown history
You had come beside me...
However many ages since, I will proceed.
By my side You will go on staying;
In Your colors only I will paint my psyche!

On some morning filled with flowers,
On some autumn, the birds calling...
With You I'd fallen in love;
I had lost myself in Thee.
That auspicious day I have forgotten,
But forgot I not my hymn eternal;
With song after song, I will make You pleased!
