You'd appeared inside my psyche.
The sky was overcast with clouds,  
Full had been the clouds, a tempest speedy;
the storm was speedy,
Yet You came on silent feet.

You did not knock my door,
At my door there'd been no knocking;
did not call to wake me up.  
Summons You gave not to waken me.
the bolt dropped with the touch of light
But by light's touch latch is freed;
on your arrival. that rainy night
It had elapsed upon Your coming.

many eras came and merged into past.  
Long back did it go away, that night rainy;
but the memory of that day, that dreamy song,  
Many ages having come, with the past they've married.
even today always floats in solitude.
But that day's memory, that hymn of dream,
Even still in private it rises routinely.

Álor parashe argal khase
Giyechilo tava ágamane

Se varaśá nishá kabe cale geche
Kata jug ese atiite misheche
Se diner smrti se svapana giiti

আঁধারে গভীরে শ্রাবণে গোপনে
তুমি এসেছিলে মোর মনে
ভরা ছিল মেঘ ঝঞ্ঝা সবেগ
তবু এলে নীরব চরণে

করাঘাত করোনিকো মোর দ্বারে
ডাক দাওনিকো জাগাতে আমারে
আলোর পরশে অর্গল খসে
গিয়েছিল তব আগমনে

সে বরষা নিশা কবে চলে' গেছে
কত যুগ এসে' অতীতে মিশেছে
সে দিনের স্মৃতি সে স্বপন-গীতি
আজও ভাসে নিতি নিরজনে
