O lotus, i came up like a thorn in your stem.
Become a thorn I had blossomed,
with momentum, the flood came down,
On the lotus stalk of Thee.
intoxicating me with strong upsurge of emotions.
Forcefully a torrent had descended;
i was down in the pond, amidst muddy water.
Me You whelmed with ecstasy.
by holding you on the head, i forgot all pains.

in life numerous blows and counter blows come.
I had been the pond beneath,
in order that you are not torn,
In the midst of water muddy.
i keep you lifted upwards.
Holding You upon my head,
Sorrow I've gone on forgetting.

Blows aplenty, have they not arrived,
The actions-and-reactions of life!
By not getting broken, Yourself
Skyward I have kept on raising.

Kanta haye phutechilum is the 2988th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Káṋt́á haye phut́echilum
Kamal tava mrńále
Ávege nevechilo d́hal
Rabhase more mátále

Chinu sáyareri niice
Pauṋkil jaleri májhe
Tomáre dhariyá shire
Vedaná giyechi bhule

Eseche kata ná ághát
Jiivaner ghát pratighát
Bheuṋge ná paŕe tomáre
Rekhechi úrdhve tule

Become a thorn I had blossomed,
On the lotus stalk of Thee.
Forcefully a torrent had descended;
Me You whelmed with ecstasy.

I had been the pond beneath,
In the midst of water muddy.
Holding You upon my head,
Sorrow I've gone on forgetting.

Blows aplenty, have they not arrived,
The actions-and-reactions of life!
By not getting broken, Yourself
Skyward I have kept on raising.
