Veńukár vane spandana ná ene
Niirave vátáse bhese jáy háy

Je cáṋd chilo ákáshe
Kotháy d́ube gelo se
Ke táhár khoṋja rákhite cáy

Je megh dekhiyá
Mayúr chilo náciyá
Kon sudúre se je háráy
Tithihiin atithi
Shuńáyechilo je giiti
Tár smrti bhese jáy alakáy

Je madhur hásikháni
Jhauṋkár dilo áni
Marmaviińár táre múracháy

পীত পর্ণগুলি ঝরে যায়
বেণুকার বনে স্পন্দন না এনে
নীরবে বাতাসে ভেসে যায় হায়

যে চাঁদ ছিলো আকাশে
কোথায় ডুবে গেলো সে
কে তাহার খোঁজ রাখিতে চায়

যে মেঘ দেখিয়া
ময়ূর ছিলো নাচিয়া
কোন সুদূরে সে যে হারায়
তিথিহীন অতিথি
শুণায়েছিলো যে গীতি
তার স্মৃতি ভেসে যায় অলকায়

যে মধুর হাসিখানি
ঝঙ্কার দিলো আনি
মর্মবীণার তারে মূরছায়

The yellow leaves are dropping off.
The silent wind floats adrift,
without stirring the bamboo grove.

Alas, the moon shining in the sky is set
and nobody bothers.

The clouds
on which peacocks used to dance,
have also vanished away.

The undated guest sang a song,
the memory of which fades far away towards heaven.

And yet, your smile awakened tinkling
in the strings of my inner viin'a'.
