O Lord,
Music's sweetness I've let drop;
I lost the sweetness of my tune.
With but its trace in memory I soldier on.
With its memory only,
Tuning my lute to the melodic octave,
I today survive.
Fixedly I gaze in Your direction.

Atuning my viin'a' to the musical octave,
Those tunes once stored within my throat;
I await you.
Today, they're all removed, very remote.
Their lingering resonance, its power to enchant,
Even now, in song and dance, I know.

The tunes that were active in my throat
By the rhythm You roused in the heavens,
have gone very far away.
You've deluged me with what palpitation?

In its very pulse and beats,
In my dance and song,
I dance incessantly, according to their oscillation.
I today realise the traces of that intoxication.

In the rhythm you awakened in the sky,
in the flood of its vibrations,
in that same rhythm and vibration,
in their swing, i too am swinging.

Rager madhurii haraye phelechi is the 863rd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ráger mádhurii háráye phelechi
Smrtit́uku niye beṋce áchi (tár)
Surasaptake báṋdhiyá viińá
Tava mukha páne ceye áchi (ámi)

Je rág ráginii kańt́he phirita
Tárá áj bahu dúre apaniita
Sei mádakatá táháder resh
Ájo náce gáne ámi bujhi

Je chande mahákáshe jágáyecho
Jár spandane plávita karecho
Sei chande o sei spandane
Tári hindole sadá náci

Music's sweetness I've let drop;
With but its trace in memory I soldier on.
Tuning my lute to the melodic octave,
Fixedly I gaze in Your direction.

Those tunes once stored within my throat;
Today, they're all removed, very remote.
Their lingering resonance, its power to enchant,
Even now, in song and dance, I know.

By the rhythm You roused in the heavens,
You've deluged me with what palpitation?
In its very pulse and beats,
I dance incessantly, according to their oscillation.
