O lord,
Confidentially, in a recess of the psyche,
in the depth of my mind,
Bosom Friend, I ask of Thee:
secretly,
Pray tell, why did You come for me?
I have been seeking you,
In this garden, silently, exclusively,
O companion!
Appearing with a mild smile, You were standing!

Tell me,
Perchance, the flowers have fallen asleep,
why did you come to me?
Creepers have drooped from the fierce heat,
Into this garden,
And by that heat the Earth's been cleaved...
in silent isolation?
Did You forget about their story?
You came and stood smilingly, why?

The flowers have become dull,
The cuckoo has forsaken her sweet call
the creepers have bowed
And nightingale croons rhythmic tunes no more...
and the earth has cracked
Feelings hurt, they only weep, love sick;
due to the intense sun and heat.
You overwhelmed everybody.
Have you forgotten about them?

The cuckoo does no longer coo sweetly,
the papia' bird does not sing in melody and rhythm,
the separated ones cry constantly,
and all are restless with hurt sentiments and agony.
