O lord,
Lord, unpersuaded, You had gone;
You left without announcing it,
Again You came on rain's downpour,
without even a word.
On shower of eyes' falling water.
You left in the intense rain,
Not a word had You heard, no obstruction heeded;
in the rain of tears.
Alas, what's the reason You had been inattentive?

You did not listen
Autumn's white clouds had cried out;
and did not heed any obstruction.
Dewy [[:wikipedia:Nyctanthes arbor-tristis|night-jasmine]] had wept.
Alas, why did you remain indifferent?
Reeds and high grass, bright laugh they'd neglected;
Upon that affliction Your mind never melted.

The white clouds of winter called.
In springtime the birds have sung;
How much the shiuli flowers cried in the cold!
Flowers multicolored, how they've pined!
The blades of grass even forgot how to smile and laugh.
With golden stars sky's been overspread,
Yet, their pain did not make your mind melt.
But Your eyes did not open on that desire.

The birds sang in spring.
And how much the colourful and loving flowers yearned for you!
The golden stars laid scattered throughout the sky.
And yet, you did not open your eyes at all this earnest longing.
