First edition
The book was first published on 5 March 1988 in one volume.
Second edition
The book was enlarged and published in two volumes on 26 January 1997. The third edition of the book was published on 4 December 2011. In the 1997 edition, the book was divided into two volumes. The first part was divided into 21 chapters and second part was divided into 43 chapters.
Third edition
The third edition of the book was published on 4 December 2011. In this edition the original one-volume edition was restored.
Dedication
Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar dedicated the book to the "first residents of Ananda Nagar". He wrote in the dedication page of the book—

Translation: At Anandanagar, at a time when jackals howled in broad daylight, the people of households would light the evening flame of welfare in a tiny earthen lamp with a wick soaked in oil. To the names of those souls this book is dedicated.
