O lord!
You'd arrived and broke my sleep,
You came,
Making bright my darkened heart.
broke my dullness,
Without my asking, still You had come,
and illuminated the darkness
Showing mercy though I was unworthy.
that lay in my heart.

I did not call you,
Disrespected and neglected,
yet you came
I was lying in but a tiny niche.
and extended your causeless grace.
You woke me and induced me to arise;
Placing Your hand on top of mine,
Delightful love-filled words You lavished.

I was lying aside dishonoured,
On an ashen earth, dust on my head,
neglected in a corner.
Nobody was with me to feel my distress.
You awakened and aroused me,
But, on my dark night, into every bosom
keeping your hand over mine.
You infused the duty to assuage misfortune;
You showered upon me sweet words
You swathed me in a flourish of sweet music.
that were filled with love.

I was lying on the dirty ground,
my head covered with dust.
There was nobody around
to understand my agony.

In the dark night,
merging heart with heart,
You removed the load of pain
and engrossed me
in a sweet and jingling melody.
