O Lord,
Having pierced my bosom and wrung my heart,
on which cart did you leave,
On what chariot of beauty did You depart
piercing my heart,
With fire and wind toward the blue yonder...
and churning the core of my being?
Into some far, far-distant star cluster?

In the distant blue sky,
Alone You arrived on a brilliant cascade;
in wind,
The riches of my heart You won and took away.
in fire,
Darkness impervious was inside my mind;
in which distant and shadowy path?
But, with Your own hand, ignited was a golden light.

You came in a flash of light
You have left, but the scent of honey lingers;
and came alone.
On the lids of my blind eyes, light-stripes are etched.
You won the heaven of my heart.
Day or night, when there's a sweet and mild breeze,

Filled with pleasant memories, Your love accompanies me.
With your own hands
You kindled a dreamlamp
in my utterly black heart.

You went away,
leaving behind a sweet fragrance.
You opened up my blinded eyes
by marking a line of illumination.

With the sweet and loving memory
of that gentle breeze
I survive,
day and night.
