It started growing quickly and had its branch in several countries. Asociatia de Ajutor AMURTEL Romania is the Romanian branch of Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team Ladies or AMURTEL.[1] This centre was founded in 1992 by a group of local and international women volunteers. Their goal is to work to improve the quality of life for people at risk of social exclusion in Romania and the world.[2]

In 1978 Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar founded Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team with the objective to to respond to specifically to the problems faced by women and children in their daily-life struggles. It started growing quickly and had its branch in several countries. The Romanian branch of AMURTEL, which is also known as Asociatia de Ajutor AMURTEL Romania, was founded in 1992 by a group of local and international women volunteers.[1][3]

AMURTEL Romania has the following objectives—[2]

Social objectives

  1. To intervene in case of calamities and disasters by providing food, clothing, relief aid, and medical assistance.
