Niilakantha Divas (1973)

Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar and some other Avadhutas of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha were arrested in 1971. In 1973 Sarkar was transferred to Bankipur Central Jail, Patna.

Observations

Niilakantha Divas is observed by Margiis every year. Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar himself suggested to observe this day to express sentient anger against those sinful forces. Margiis on this day focus not on the fact that Sarkar was poisoned but rather on the fact that he survived. It is a day when they do food distribution to the needy with special food.
