O lord, because of my past ignorance,
Yourself have I sought
i was searching you in various pilgrim places,
In wilderness at places holy,
and in difficult mountains and caves.
In the mountain-caves hard to reach.
but i could not get satisfaction
I found not anywhere, I got no satisfaction;
by not finding you anywhere.
Weariness has it brought, with despondency.
i only got tiredness of frustration.

i did not understand that You are very close
For everyone, You're the man who is their own,
and intimate to one and all,
More intimate even than the soul.
nearer than one's own's self.
For that cherished kinsman, for that bosom buddy,
i was searching you in isolation.
I have searched in solitary;
this was my blunder.
My mistake had been in respect to understanding.
the own ones would stay nearest

and wipe the tears of pain,
My Own Man, nearby will You be residing;
and share joy by bringing light removing darkness.
You will wipe away affliction's tears.
baba, by your grace now awareness has come,
In concert with my smiles will You mingle beams;
mistake is rectified
With light-rays You'll dismiss obscurity.
and i realized that you stay within my mind.
Awareness has arrived, my blunder is breaking;
I've realized You have dwelt in the psyche.
