Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bandhu mama práńera priyatama
Tumii jiivanera sár
Tomári rúpe ráge tomári anuráge
Mananer halo vistár

Tomári bháver srote jái je bhásiyá
Tomári náme gáne asiime mishiyá
Bandhu mama antaratama
Sambodhi apár

Griiśme dávadáhe tumii shiitalatá
Hime tuhine uśńa sajiivatá
Eso go káche eso hrdayásane baso
Násho go klesh sabákár

My abiding friend, my dearest beloved,
You are the essence of my life.
By Your charm, affection, and affinity,
My contemplations get expanded.

I go forward, floating in Your mental stream,
Flowing into infinity through Your name and song.
My abiding friend, my closest confidant,
Your perfect knowledge is boundless.

In the intense heat of summer, You provide coolness.
In snow and ice, You are the warmth of my life.
Come, come closer, sit on the throne of my heart.
And soothe my every pain.
