Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(Morá) Mukta bhúmir meye
D́uḿgri páháŕe jharńá dháre
Joŕer kináre ghúri nece geye

Kadam palásh niye kari go khelá
Sárá diner belá
Mahul kuliri shiitala cháye

Báṋká vanapathe jete jete
Khoṋpáy nite gáṋthi málá
Moder chande gáne
Maner khushiir sane
Vaner hariń dekhe ceye
Morá param puruśeri meye

We are free-land girls.
In mountains and hills, beside rapids,
Beside rills, in song and dance we twirl.

With kadam and palash we play,
All the livelong day...
In the cool shade of mahuwa on the plains.

Meandering on the forest paths
we weave garlands into our hair.

The forest deer rejoice to see
our blissful song and dance.

We are the blessed girls of the land of liberation.
We are the blessed girls of god.
