Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Prabhu ámár priya ámár
Tumi nayanera mańi sabákár

(Andha timire) Ghumáno dharáre
Tumi jágáyecho nava nava sure
(Phulera rúpete) Práńera dhúpete
D́háliyá diyecho sudhá sár

(Mlán múk mukhe) Hatáshá bháuṋgá buke
Bhariyá diyecho áshára áloke
Bháśá jogáyecho trśá mit́áyecho
Mádhurii enecho báṋcivár

My lord, my beloved,
You are everyone's favorite.

In darkness gloomy, on earth asleep,
You've aroused new, new melodies.
In the grace of flora, in the fragrance of vigor,
You've made emanate the finest nectar.

On faces sad and mute, in bosoms despair-broke,
You've suffused the effulgence of hope.
You've supplied language, You've eased the yearning;
You've brought sweetness, revitalizing our lives.
