You know how to play the game of chiaroscuro;
You know how to play the game of chiaroscuro;
In whimsy, how to pull the strings of all You know.
Per Your whim, how to pull the strings of all You know.

You can bring down light in darkest night;
You can bring down light in darkest night;

And You know how to make heart's harpstrings resound.
And You know how to make heart's harpstrings resound.

With your grace
With Your grace, the world is made colorful;
the world is colourful;
In Your liila, we are all subordinate to maya.
Your inscrutable game
Casting off the web of illusion, You bring liberation;
engages all
Please bring liberation, Lord, bring liberation.
in maya's hypnotic spell.

And you alone, lord, know well how
to tear asunder illusion's veil
and grant emancipation.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi álo cháyá khelá khelite jáno
Kheyál khushiite sabe nácáte jáno

Tumi áṋdhár nishiithe álo jharáte páro
(Tumi) Diner áloy kálo d́hálite páro
Tumi múk mukhe bháśá diye hásáte jáno
(Tumi) Práńer tárete viińá bájáte jáno

Tomár krpáte dhará hayeche rauṋiin
Tomár liiláte sabe máyári adhiin
Tumi máyápásh saráiyá mukti áno
Mukti áno prabhu mukti áno

You know how to play the game of chiaroscuro;
Per Your whim, how to pull the strings of all You know.

You can bring down light in darkest night;
You can discharge darkness over daylight.
You know how to please the dumb by granting tongue;
And You know how to make heart's harpstrings resound.

With Your grace, the world is made colorful;
In Your liila, we are all subordinate to maya.
Casting off the web of illusion, You bring liberation;
Please bring liberation, Lord, bring liberation.
