With festive mood all drew close to each other.
With festive mood all drew close to each other.

In the festive air, one and all affectionately embrace,
Sorrow forgotten in one beat, one tune, one song,
and, forgetting sorrows,
With heart and soul, the universe now rejoices.
the entire universe bursts forth into ecstatic harmony
one rhythm, one resonance, one song.

On a flood of light floats the breeze boat of my mind.
On a flood of light floats the breeze boat of my mind.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi ele cáridik rauṋe bhare ut́halo
Taruń tapan miśt́i hási hásalo
Hásir ámeje dhará sab klesh bhule gelo
Khushiir mejáje sabe sabáike t́ene nilo

Duhkha bhule eki tále eki táne eki gáne
Vishvajagat áj mane práńe mátalo

Áloker srote bháse manapavanera náo
Dáṋŕi májhi hese hese táháke tiire lágáo
Sonálii jhilik t́ene sabái chande gáne
Tava tále uttále sabe áji nácalo

You came, and the four sides[nb 2] rose full of color;
The rising sun, it put on a sweet smile.
In the smile's afterglow, earth forgot every woe;
With festive mood all drew close to each other.

Sorrow forgotten in one beat, one tune, one song,
With heart and soul, the universe now rejoices.

On a flood of light floats the breeze boat of my mind.
The boatmen, smiling, ply my life boat to this shore.
Here all are drunk with your golden radiance
and all dance rhythmically in euphoric joy.
