Sorrow forgotten in one beat, one tune, one song,

Tumi ele caridik raune bhare uthalo is the 316th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi ele cáridik rauṋe bhare ut́halo
Taruń tapan miśt́i hási hásalo
Hásir ámeje dhará sab klesh bhule gelo
Khushiir mejáje sabe sabáike t́ene nilo

Duhkha bhule eki tále eki táne eki gáne
Vishvajagat áj mane práńe mátalo

Áloker srote bháse manapavanera náo
Dáṋŕi májhi hese hese táháke tiire lágáo
Sonálii jhilik t́ene sabái chande gáne
Tava tále uttále sabe áji nácalo

You came, and the four sides[nb 2] arose, full of color;
The rising sun, it put on a sweet smile.
In the smile's afterglow, earth forgot its every woe;
With festive mood, all drew close to each other.

Sorrow forgotten in one meter, one tune, one song,
The universe is now passionately jubilant.

Take my secret longing, adrift in the stream of light;
And, Helmsman, kindly row it to shore.[nb 3]
In rhythm and song all are drawn to the golden glittering;
Today, everyone is dancing to the surge of Your beat.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ Left, right, front, and back.
  3. ^ According to the Samsad Bengali-English Dictionary, in Bengali folktales, the manapavaner dáṋŕa (মনপবনের দাঁড়) is "an oar by means of which a boat can be driven at any speed and in any directions as one desires". Here, that concept is taken metaphorically and given spiritual significance by placing the oar in the hands of Paramapuruśa.
