O lord,
You have come, nectar conferring;
You came,
You've made bright my psyche.
poured sweetness on me,
Gently You've smiled, eyes opening;
and illuminated my heart.
You've expelled all my fatigue.

You smiled softly,
My love is what perceives Thee;
opened my eyes,
My song is what allures Thee.
and removed my agony.
My memory whispers in both ears
That never You've forgotten me.

My love knows you
Even now on my chignon is the blossom You've bequeathed;
and my songs are meant to attract you.
Even now the night makes me very uneasy.

Gripped by the [[:wikipedia:Purvi|Raag Purabi]], I am with yearning;
My memory whispers into my ears
Though You've moved on, have You gone on listening?
that you have not forgotten me.

The flower given by you
beautifies my chignon even today.

The nights make me restless even today.

Taking the tune of separation,
I sing from the core of my being,
hoping you might still listen.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi esecho madhu d́helecho
Hiyá álokita karecho
Mrdu hesecho áṋkhi melecho
Gláni saráye diyecho

Mor priiti je tomáre jáne
Mor giiti je tomáre t́áne
Mor smrti kahe káńe káńe
Tumi náhi bhule rayecho

Kabariite ájo áche tava deoyá phul
Sharvarii ájo more kare je ákul
Púraviite tán dhare hai je vyákul
Bujhi tumi shuńe calecho

You have come, nectar conferring;
You've made bright my psyche.
Gently You've smiled, eyes opening;
You've expelled all my fatigue.

My love is what perceives Thee;
My song is what allures Thee.
My memory whispers in both ears
That never You've forgotten me.

Even now on my chignon is the blossom You've bequeathed;
Even now the night makes me very uneasy.
Gripped by the Raag Purabi, I am with yearning;
Though You've moved on, have You gone on listening?
